I Want To Change My Life!

I want to change my life

I’m pretty sure that almost everyone has thought or perhaps even screamed: “I want to change my life”!

It doesn’t matter how good things are for me, there are times when I want to change my life. Not exchange it with someone else but change some of the flaws or weaknesses.

Back in 2000, my fitness transformation started with a desire to change the way I looked and felt. I weighed over 250 pounds. In 2013, while training for my first (and only) 1/2 marathon my continued quest to start eating healthy led me to adopt a vegan diet.

I didn’t change my life from someone who was mostly sedentary that ate in restaurants 7 days a week to distance running and cooking vegan in a week, a month or even a year!

Fitness transformations are usually built on small steps, one at a time until they became a habit. Not good news for a society that demands everything delivered in seconds!

In 2010 Darren Hardy, publisher of Success Magazine, penned The Compound Effect. It’s a book I’ve referred to often in my quest to unlock my true potential.

In a special message at the start of the book, life change specialist Tony Robbins says

”Your decisions shape your destiny. The future is what you make of it. Little, everyday decisions will either take you to the life you desire or to disaster by default. In fact, it’s just the littlest decisions that shape our lives”

One of my favorite stories in the book is about three friends with similar lives. One makes no change and the other two make a seemingly insignificant daily change. Tune in to find out what happens in less than 3 years!

Small seemingly inconsequential changes helped to change my life and they can help you too!

What one change will you commit to today? Then take these steps.

  1. Write it down.
  2. Look at when you wake up.
  3. Review it just before you go to sleep.

After 30 days it becomes a habit. Those habits, big and small, good and bad, shape the life we lead.

IF this was helpful, feel free to share!
